Chuck grew up being told countless stories of his family’s farm life. Since his early days, Chuck felt a connection to the land and the farming lifestyle. Having always admired the way the men in his family talked about the land with love and respect, Chuck admired the way that farm families drew together and depended on one another as each individual fulfilled their own unique role. To him, there was always work to be done, and work was a joy rather than a drudge. Chuck knew from an early stage that he wanted to use his life to make a difference. Chuck loves the farm life as long as it offers challenge. He is a bit addicted to farm grown coffee, afternoon siestas, lists on the blackboard and spreadsheets. Chuck loves working outdoors with his hands, especially building. Chuck strives to put into practice what Susie learns off the net. Chuck is gifted in explaining things in a way that anyone can understand. His interests are in permaculture and appropriate technologies.
What is your main job on the farm?
"my main is job is to coordinate the whole farm to work together, especially with the bees, and to put the infrastructure in place for other people to take over"
How do you feel God’s presence on the farm?
"I see God in his constant provision where it is needed. In the way he interconnects things in nature. The way he engineers things is amazing. I see God in the way he puts people together, he provides a community of people who can work together and get a specific job done. We have complimentary skills and it's all because of God."
